"Never before has there been such a mountain of empirical research supporting a whole foods, plant-based diet. People are beginning to sense the need for change and are beginning to question some of the most basic assumptions that we have about food and health- and are changing their lives for the better." The China Study, T. Colin Campbell

    •           The more I look, the more I find arguments for both sides of soy. Is it good or is it bad?  There are SO many articles out there, how do we know who to believe? I think the most important thing to do is find the source/writer. Then I always do a quick google search for their credentials. This article was written by, Kaayla T Daniel (PhD, CCN
      THE WHOLE NUTRITIONIST®)
I believe it is an excerpt from her book, "The Whole Soy Story".

This next article is written by John Robbins, a man I hold in high esteem. He has put his whole life into learning how to best take care of our body and the environment. This article is his response to Kaayla T Daniel.

I am going to take the info given here and maybe re-think some things. I want to share it with you, so you can make an educated choice for you and your family. It's worth taking the time to read. The conclusion: Still up in the air...... I am still on my never-ending quest:)

PROFILE

I am a mom of four young girls. I love to run and be active. In March of 2007 I tested positive for BRCA1, a known breast and ovarian cancer causing gene. I met with genetic counselors and was given the advice to have an elective mastectomy and oophorectomy to ensure my health. I knew that was the only way. We decided to have one more baby before the surgeries. We had twin girls in October 2008. I had many sleepless nights just waiting and wondering when the cancer would strike. In May 2009, after reading about a whole foods-plant based diet, ("The China Study", and "Eat to Live"). I decided I will not have the elective surgeries. I will use nutrition as my drug of choice. It's empowering to have this knowledge, and to be in charge of my family's health! I am so excited to learn more and share with you!
