Strawberry Banana Smoothie

 

1-2 Oranges, peeled and quartered

1-2 Frozen bananas (when frozen- it makes the smoothie extra creamy)

1-2 cups frozen strawberries

1 TBS ground flaxseed

 

DIRECTIONS

Place oranges in high powdered blender (i.e. Vita-mix).  Mix until smooth.  Add cut up frozen bananas, strawberries and flax seed and mix until smooth and desired texture is reached.  May need to add more strawberries depending on desired thickness.

HINT:  Peel the bananas before you freeze them and place them in an air tight container.  Grind the whole flax seeds right before using them in a small coffee grinder.  You can refrigerate any left over ground flax seed but use it as soon as possible- it can go rancid very quickly.
