Oat Sausage

Oat Sausage Patties

 

Ingredients

4 1/2 cups water

1/4 cup Braggs Liquid Aminos (Soy Sauce- light sodium)

3 TBS Olive Oil

4 1/2 cups Old Fashioned Oats (you can gently crush the oats in a processor before adding if desired)

1 cup pecan or walnut meal (place nuts in processor or blender- pulse until the nuts are ground)

2 teaspoons onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon basil

1 1/2 teaspoon sage

 

DIRECTIONS

Bring water, Braggs Liquid Aminos and olive oil to a boil in a large sauce pan.

Add oats and simmer for 10 minutes.  Remove from heat and add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Allow to cool and form into patties.  Place the patties on an oil sprayed cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.

 

Makes approx. 24 two inch patties.

Great for breakfast or for a snack.  The patties are really good warm or cooled.  Can also be tried on a hamburger bun for dinner.
