Steel Cut Oatmeal
1/2 cup steel cut oats (Oat groats that have been cut instead of rolled)
1 cup water
Toppings
Cinnamon
Apples chopped finely
Raisins
Chopped raw walnuts
Rice or Soy milk if desired
DIRECTIONS
Place water in medium size pan on stove top and turn to HIGH. When the water comes to a boil, add the oats. Turn the stove down to LOW and cover for 15 minutes.
Place the oats in a bowl, mix in the cinnamon and desired toppings. Serve warm. (This recipe serves approx. 2) I love the texture of steel cut oats compared to rolled oats...it's in a more "whole" form and has a chewy yet nutty texture- YUM!
