Hummus

HUMMUS

 

Ingredients

1-2 garlic cloves, minced

1 15 oz. can garbanzo beans

3 TBS Tahini (sesame seed butter)

2 TBS Lemon Juice OR Juice of one lemon

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

REAL salt to taste

1/4 teaspoon paprika

2-3 tablespoons Olive oil (OPTIONAL)

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (OPTIONAL)

 

DIRECTIONS:

Drain beans and reserve the liquid.  Add all ingredients to the food processor.  Process until smooth.  If the mixture is too dry, add some of the reserved bean liquid.

 

This creamy spread can be used as a dip for veggies, crackers or pita bread.  It can also be used as a sandwich filling.
